Nearly Home Tree Sea Glass Art | Whittington Tump Worcestershire

There's something wonderfully comforting about that moment when you know you're nearly home. For many people travelling through Worcestershire, the familiar sight of the little tree standing proudly on Whittington Tump near Worcester is a reminder that home isn't far away. This beautiful handmade sea glass picture captures that very special feeling in a simple, sentimental piece of original artwork.

Lovingly created by me, Helen, using genuine beachcombed sea glass, delicate watercolours and fine hand-drawn details, this charming little picture celebrates a much-loved Worcestershire landmark and the memories it holds for so many local people.

Featuring a single tree standing on a softly painted green hill, with the handwritten words "Nearly Home" beneath it, this wonderfully understated design is full of meaning, nostalgia and handmade charm.

Beautifully presented in a natural pine frame, it's a thoughtful gift for anyone who calls Worcestershire home, whether they still live here, have moved away or simply hold a special place in their heart for this lovely corner of England.

Handmade with Love & a Little Imagination

Every Nearly Home picture begins with a carefully chosen piece of genuine sea glass, collected during my beachcombing adventures along the British coastline. For this particular design, I use a beautifully tumbled piece of deep bottle-green sea glass, collected from Seaham Beach in the North East of England and selected for its lovely shape, colour and character.

I carefully position the sea glass to create the distinctive silhouette of the little tree that stands on Whittington Tump, adding a delicate hand-drawn trunk beneath it.

The gently sloping hill is hand painted in soft green watercolours, creating a simple, peaceful landscape that captures the familiar outline of this much-loved Worcestershire landmark.

Fine artist ink details frame the artwork, while the handwritten words "Nearly Home" complete the design, adding a lovely touch of nostalgia and sentiment.

The finished picture is presented in a beautiful natural pine frame, whose warm wooden tones complement the soft greens of the artwork.

The result is a wonderfully simple, characterful piece of original sea glass art that combines the natural beauty of beachcombed treasures with a little local history and a very special sense of belonging.

A Thoughtful Gift, Ready to Give 💙

There's something particularly special about a gift that reminds someone of home, especially when it captures a place filled with happy memories. For many Worcestershire residents, Whittington Tump is much more than a little tree on a hill. It's a familiar landmark that signals the final part of a journey, the comfort of returning to somewhere you belong and that lovely feeling of knowing you're nearly home.

Whether you're looking for a thoughtful housewarming present, a leaving gift for someone moving away, a sentimental reminder of Worcestershire or a unique gift for someone who grew up in the area, this handmade sea glass picture is a lovely way to celebrate that connection.

It's particularly meaningful for anyone who has moved away from Worcestershire but still thinks of it as home, offering a little reminder of familiar places and cherished memories. And because each picture is a tiny piece of original artwork, it's a lovely keepsake that can be enjoyed for many years to come.

The natural pine frame gives the design a warm, timeless feel, making it a charming addition to a hallway, living room, bedroom or cosy corner of the home. Choose to hang it on the wall or add the optional miniature easel to create a lovely little display on a shelf or mantelpiece.

Your picture will arrive lovingly wrapped and carefully packaged, complete with a little gift card as standard, making it perfect for sending directly to someone special.

A Little Note from Me 💙

Living in Worcestershire myself, I know how much our familiar local landmarks can mean to us. Sometimes it's the simplest things that evoke the strongest memories, and I love the idea that one little tree on a hill can represent such a powerful feeling of home. This design is particularly special because it brings together my love of sea glass, watercolour painting and the places that hold meaning in our lives.

Every piece of sea glass I use has been personally collected during my beachcombing adventures, and I never cut or reshape it. Instead, I choose each piece for its natural shape and character, allowing the sea glass itself to help bring my designs to life.

Because your picture will be individually made to order using genuine sea glass, the tree may differ slightly in shape, colour and size from the one shown in the photographs. Those little differences are part of what makes handmade art so special.

If you'd like to see a photograph of your finished picture before I send it to you, just get in touch. I'm always happy to help.

To preserve the delicate watercolour details and keep the colours looking their best, I recommend displaying your picture away from prolonged direct sunlight.

Thank you for choosing handmade and supporting my small creative business. Every Craft Happy creation begins with an idea, a little imagination and a love of turning simple beachcombed treasures into something meaningful.

I hope this little picture brings a smile, a happy memory and that wonderful feeling of being nearly home.
